Not 264, but 320...

This morning we added two new boxes that bring us up to 320 square feet, and I am not even sure that will be enough space for what we have planned.  Our most awesome maintenance crew also got our donated mower and weed whacker running so we can keep things nice and trim.
After last night's much needed rain you can see the difference in the plants between yesterday and today.  They are looking lush and vibrant and it is really a treat to be able to go out and spend some time taking care of the plants, though mostly what they need right now is sunshine, water, and the eternal battle against weeds and insects.
The peas are starting to climb...
...and the beans.
Potatoes and spinach.
Salad greens.
Forest of carrots.
Lettuce and garlic forest.
...and not all is green in the garden.

Saturday, Sunshine, and Shovels

Today at Middlebrook Farm School we built two new boxes and filled them with more soil (...eleven shovels full of dirt to one wheel barrow...).  After that we planted as many of the seedlings from indoors as we could.  Hopefully the really cold weather is behind us and the gardens will really start to getting to the growing.
